On the Road

Good to know when The Road is Yours

Roadside assistance during rental

We provide you with 24/7 roadside assistance in all our destination countries. Although our top brand motorhomes represent the highest technical quality and they are well maintained between each rental, mechanical problem situations cannot be ruled out completely.

In such an event, please call us immediately and report any technical problems. Our support team will take the lead and recommend proper actions to solve any problem situation as fast as possible. We have a mechanic on standby 24/7, and replacement vehicles available if needed.

Please always  follow the guidance and recommendations of our support team. Failure to do this may revoke your right to compensation later on, so it’s important that you keep us informed and let us help you.

Children traveling in a motorhome

We are committed to keeping your little ones as safe as possible on your motorhome holiday. To ensure your children’s safety, all passengers must wear seatbelts while the vehicle is in motion.

Children under 135 cm in height are required to use appropriate child restraints:

  • Children under 3 years old must use a baby seat.
  • Children between 3 years old and under 135 cm tall should use a booster seat.

Our modern top brand rental motorhomes are equipped with the latest safety features, including airbags in the front seats. Do not attach a rear-facing seat to the front seat of the motorhome because of the airbags.

Touring Cars provides baby seats and booster seats by availability only, but takes no responsibility attaching them to the camper for the clients. We do not recommend any child under 135 cm or under 12 years to travel in the front seat or without a safety device.

Luggage

Most of our rental motorhomes have plenty of room for luggage. However, we recommend using  soft suitcases instead of hard ones because they fit inside the luggage compartment better. In many of our locations we offer the possibility to  leave your empty suitcases at the rental station until your return.

Winter conditions

Driving in the snow? Don’t worry. Winter tires are always included in our rental rates. Our rental stations will equip your motorhome with the correct tire set according to local legislation requirements.

To avoid frost damage to the motorhome, you are  responsible for making sure that the vehicle  is heated properly at all times. The water system is especially sensitive to damage in extreme cold temperatures. Additional information on driving in winter conditions is given at the pickup.

Problems or breakdowns

To enable a safe and carefree holiday for you, we provide a thorough vehicle orientation, technical instructions and 24/7 road assistant service. However, our customers are obligated to take good care of the motorhome and be cautious while driving. During the rental period, you need to observe the condition of the vehicle, check the engine oil, fluids, and coolant levels at each refueling, as well as immediately report any mechanical failures and technical malfunctions. All guidance and recommendations of our support team should be followed.

In the event of a breakdown and the motorhome being in repair for 24 hours or more, not by fault of the customer, our responsibility is limited to a refund of a daily rate or a portion thereof. You are required to take the vehicle to the closest repair location instructed by our roadside assistance.

Accidents

In the unfortunate case of an accident, please inform your motorhome rental station immediately. If other parties are involved, make sure to have a full insurance form filled out with signatures and a police report if available.

To avoid such unwanted circumstances, please, have a look at the Reserve Your Motorhome page, with full description of the reservation process and e.g. insurance options.
